Your Role as a Mentor Workshop
On Friday, February 11, 2011, the first annual pre-event workshop for Mentors was hosted at the Manitoba Hydro Building, located at 360 Portage Avenue.
Over 60 women joined together and took part in a luncheon and workshop presented by Deri Latimier, B. Mgt, who is one of the top 10% of speakers globally and holds the designation of Certified Speaking Professional.
The workshop was designed for Mentors who will be attending the main event in March. It was an opportunity to learn about fulfilling one's role as a mentor and how it can significantly impact the life and experience of a younger person just beginning her career! Mentees can unquestionably benefit from the vast experience and expertise Mentors have to offer and Mentors can benefit from reignited energy and enthusiasm for their professional calling.
Topics Which Were Discussed:
- Understanding what is expected of you in your role as a mentor
- Determining your personal needs and goals, and clarifying the needs and goals of the mentee
- Discovering how to develop a successful mentoring relationship
