I saw an ad about a job in the Services Canada Job Bank and applied right away. It’s an organization I wanted to volunteer with for a long time just never got around to it and now I’m working for them. I can hardly believe it myself! Although it’s a reception job I do the office purchasing, data entry, general correspondence and lots and lots of organizing!

I had lost my job after 14 years, a job that I really enjoyed and was good at. After searching for six months without success I called up the Winnipeg Transition Centre and attended an Orientation session. The positive attitude and giving nature of the staff gave me hope and the workshops gave me confidence. Within a couple of days, I had found a good job in my field.
