We conduct one Orientation session every four weeks on Tuesdays at 1:30, and due to popular demand, we do ask that you register in advance!
At the Orientation, we take about 30 minutes to explain what our program looks like, what we offer, and what you can expect from us. If you are interested in participating in the program, you will then fill out an application form and schedule a one-on-one appointment with one of our Employment Counsellors.
Did you know that 85% of employers’ interview questions focus on your attitude, motivation, ability to be managed, as well as how you get along with others? In our transition workshop, we focus on the interpersonal skills employers are looking for when hiring. We guide you through team work and communication exercises that unpack, and shine the light on the singular and special way you fulfill these skills. Remember, how you think, speak and act is how you are perceived.
In this workshop, we assist you, step-by-step, to develop an organized and focused resume. At the end of the day, we will then schedule an individual resume sitting for you with one of our Employment Coaches to help fine-tune the details.
We use this workshop to demystify those tough interview questions. You know the ones; you’ve heard them before! Those standard questions like “Tell me about yourself”, situational questions like “What would you do if…?” and behavioral questions like “Tell me about a time when….”. You will have lots of time and help to script and practice your answers!
Have you ever heard of the Hidden Job Market? Did you know that’s where 80% of the jobs are? In this workshop we discuss proven job search methods, including networking and employer direct contact. You will also learn about calling cards, cover letters, Internet research ideas, and some simple ways social media can help in your job search!
